In 1978 John Carpenter decided to make a low budget film never dreaming that over 30 years later it would be a classic and one of the favorite horror movies of all time. Even teens of today know who Michael Meyers and Laurie Strode are and watch the movie every Halloween.
Carpenter had no idea that his low budget movie would spawn quite a few sequels. Even with all of the sequels though “Halloween” and “Halloween 2” are and always will be the most popular. Both were remade not too long ago by Rob Zombie and added to with a different take. It wasn’t until “Halloween 2” that everyone found out why Michael wanted to kill Laurie Strode. The sequel started where the original had left off with our heroine in the hospital and Michael continuing his killing spree in the hospital. Michael will kill anyone in his path but has a certain love for killing teenagers, especially teenagers who are being naughty.
Dressed in his adult Michael Myers costume Michael stalks the hospital corridors determined to take out the only surviving member of his family. That surviving member is Laurie Strode, Michael’s baby sister. Even through the many sequels to “Halloween” that followed the second we have never clearly been told why Michael wanted to kill his entire family. It has been alluded to but was never made clear.
The perfect adult Michael Myers costume consists of the “Halloween” patented green jumpsuit and a white mask with scars all over it that has hair sticking out of it. It is the perfect scary costume. You can be rest assured that when the scents and sounds of October roll around this season “Halloween” will be one of the first DVD’s popped into the DVD player to begin the chills and thrills of the season.
