Adult Edward Scissorhands Costume

Miranda put the finishing touches on her adult Edward Scissorhands costume then went on downstairs to show her mom the finished product.

She had made the costume herself as nowhere she looked online or in any of the Halloween shops in town had what she was looking for.

Miranda loved the “Edward Scissorhands” movie and had seen it a million times it seemed on DVD. The story was so sad and poignant that she could never watch it without crying.

It was the story of a mechanical young man that was unfinished due to his inventor dying. The only thing the inventor had failed to give the young man was hands.

The young man was played by Johnny Depp which was Miranda’s all-time favorite actor and he had done an amazing job.

He had of course fallen in love with a girl named Kim but circumstances and awful neighbors had caused them to part. But every time Kim saw snow she was reminded of her true love. She was the inspiration for Kim’s adult Edward Scissorhands costume this year.

Everyone at school thought she was nuts. After all Edward Scissorhands was a boy! But she wanted to be a sexy Miss Edward Scissorhands and she had accomplished what she had set out to do. Everyone said it wasn’t possible to create a Miss Edward Scissorhands costume but she was standing in the hallway looking in the mirror and that is exactly what was staring back at her.

She had even gotten her boyfriend in on the act and he was going to the party in his own adult Edward Scissorhands costume. As a matter of fact he was supposed to be picking her up in about 30 minutes she thought glancing at the watch that was tucked up under her costume.

She headed on into the kitchen to show her mom her outfit laughing when her mom jumped when she touched her on the shoulder. Her mom had always thought that the whole adult Edward Scissorhands costume thing was sort of creepy along with the movie itself. Something about those scissors she said when Miranda had asked her about why she shivered every time the subject was brought up.

Her mom ooohed and ahhhed over the costume but you could tell she still didn’t like it. She felt that the scissor pieces were just strange and thought that Miranda romanticized Edward Scissorhands too much. But come on it was a romantic and very sad movie. Miranda’s heart had gone out to Kim and Edward in the movie and she had cried when Kim was revealed as the old lady from the beginning of the movie.

The doorbell rang and Kim stopped to give her adult Edward Scissorhands costume a final look then headed to the door to let in her own love of her life. Tonight was going to be fun no matter what her mom had to say about it. Kim laughed and hugging her mom bye went on out the door to enjoy seeing  the  adult Edward Scissorhands costume  and  the party.
